Conscious Living #30: MAY You Remember the Way Home

⚖️ Conscious Living – MAY You…

The month of May draws to a close on a breeze, hinting at chilly days to come and reminding us about balance as we near the mid-year mark. Almost 6 months have passed, another 6 lie ahead in the cycle that is 2026. What a year it has been so far! So for this month’s recap:

May You...
know the value of your work, rest and balance
embrace the person beneath the mask of responsibility
make space for love, joy, happiness and good days
forge connections with those nearest you with intention
be present, be confident, be who you are underneath the pressure to be *more*
see through lenses you may not have thought existed.

May You Find A Way To
COME HOME TO YOURSELF

Earlier this month we honoured the dignity of work and the people who keep the world moving.

On Workers’ Day, we were also reminded that …
productivity is not your worth, rest is not laziness, and balance is part of success.

Work hard, live consciously, and care for yourself along the way.

Who Lives Beneath The Mask?

The roles we learn to play often begin as ways to belong, to be accepted, to be “enough.”

But over time, the mask can become so familiar that we forget we’re wearing it.

This month’s reflection:
Where have I mistaken who I’ve learned to be for who I am?

And who am I… underneath it?

🫶 Wise Words for Good Days

I was reading a collection of Maya Angelou’s quotes one morning and this card felt aligned with the theme of conditioning.

If so much of how much of who we are is shaped by what we experience … then perhaps we have more influence than we realise.

🌿 Mental Health Awareness Month: More Good Days, Together

A gentle challenge for you:
Choose one small, intentional experience.
– A moment of connection with a family member or friend (a call, a message, meet for coffee/ a visit)
– A small act of presence in your work or responsibilities (stop by a colleagues desk, compliment them, share a moment)
– A quiet pause for reflection or spiritual grounding (a prayer, write your thoughts down, sit and observe your day so far)
– A simple sensory moment (music, nature, breath, sunlight)
– Write down 3 things you are grateful for and share them with someone

Not to force a “good day” –
but to consciously create space for one.

And if you can… share that moment with someone.

Some women plant gardens.

They plant courage, safety, wisdom, softness, and love into the lives of everyone around them.

And somehow… everything they touch blooms. 🌸

This month we celebrated Mother’s Day and sent wishes to the women who nurture life in seen and unseen ways.

The Come Home To Yourself workshop on 20th June (poster and details at the top of the page) is a gentle offering for women … and it may just be the kind of gift that lingers far beyond a single day. 🦋

This month also saw the International Day of Families 🤍

A meaningful activity we’ve done as a family was choosing symbols for one another – each one representing how we see that person’s spirit, strengths, or energy. These were ours …

A Mustang.
A red ruby.
A blue butterfly.
A pink orchid.
A sunflower.

What I loved most was hearing the “why” behind each choice. It created such a beautiful space for affirmation, reflection, connection, and really seeing one another beyond the roles and routines of everyday life.

Sometimes the smallest rituals become the most memorable.

If you’d like a simple but powerful family connection idea, try this around the dinner table:

“If you had to choose a symbol for each member of our family, what would it be – and why?”

I have a feeling the conversations that follow may stay with you for a long time 🌱

I asked followers on my Whatsapp Channel which symbol they thought was mine. Keep reading to find out what they thought and who got it spot on…

🦋 Come Home To Yourself The Awakened Woman is coming in June

So many of us are exhausted from living between yesterday and tomorrow.

Replaying.
Anticipating.
Overthinking.
Holding it all together.

But healing often begins by returning to the present moment.
To the breath.
To yourself.

Come Home to Yourself 🦋

My Symbol Revealed

Image from Conscious Living #30: MAY You Remember the Way Home

And the answer is … Ruby ♦️

Ironically, it was the least voted option 😄

The votes looked like this:
🌻 Sunflower – 15
🦋 Blue Butterfly – 10
♦️ Red Ruby – 5
🌸 Pink Orchid – 10
🏎‍🟀 Mustang – 0

To be fair, the other guesses were beautiful – and I especially loved seeing so many votes for the symbols representing our children. There’s something heartwarming about that.

But I have to admit… I love that the Ruby was the more unexpected choice.

Not because it’s strong or rare, but because I think growth, healing, and transformation often happen when we move beyond the predictable. Beyond the rehearsed answers. Beyond who people assume we are.

That’s what I hope to create in my work and growth spaces too:
Experiences that gently disrupt the ordinary… and invite people into deeper resilience, connection, embodiment, and becoming.

Also, not a single person guessed Mustang 😂
Which, admittedly, would have made for a brilliantly unexpected plot twist.

You were born with it…

Confidence is not becoming someone else.
It is remembering who you were before the world convinced you that your worth depended on performance, productivity, perfection, or approval.

The caterpillar was never unworthy before becoming a butterfly.
Its becoming was always within it.

So many of us move through life over-functioning, over-giving, over-proving – slowly disconnecting from ourselves in the process.

This is something I know deeply in my own life.

For a long time, I confused exhaustion with worthiness.
I believed I had to keep achieving, helping, doing, carrying, and pushing to feel enough.

And I am still consciously unlearning that pattern.
Still learning that my worth does not increase when I abandon myself to prove it.

Real confidence is quieter than performance.
It is the deep knowing:

“I was worthy before I was impressive.”

Perhaps coming home to yourself begins there. 🤍

🎶 Feel Your Rhythm

Image from Conscious Living #30: MAY You Remember the Way Home

There comes a time in the life of a woman when she no longer wants to only understand herself…

She wants to feel herself again.

To feel life moving through her body.
To feel joy in her system.
To feel music, movement, expression, pleasure, presence.

To return to the parts of herself that were never meant to disappear.

Because awakening is not only about realization.

It is about aliveness.
It is about reconnecting to the body.
To nervous system safety.
To the deep exhale of becoming fully present inside your own life again.

Take a breath with me…
Hand on heart.
Smile on face.

It is time to …

May Affirmation

So much of life can be lived on autopilot.

Patterns. Roles. Expectations. Reactions.

Awareness is often the moment the trance begins to break.
