Conscious Living #31: Doubts – Fact or Fiction? MENtal Health Matters, Taking Time to Breathe

June 30, 2026by Bronwyn Russo

Because of YOU

As I review the month’s posts and reflections, I’m often intrigued to see that the themes didn’t come from a content plan, but from life itself.

Some are inspired by my own reflections, others from the world around me, but most emerge from the conversations I have the privilege of sharing with clients every day. Although every story is unique and always held in confidence, there are often common threads that remind me how connected we all are.

This month, those threads centre around overcoming self-doubt, regulating ourselves when life feels overwhelming and knowing that its human to ask for support – for men & women alike.

I hope you’ll find something in this months newsletter that meets you where you are and reminds you that:

you are not alone.

Being Brave Enough to Face the Doubts … and Keep Going

Too often, we interpret doubt as a sign to stop.

But what if, instead, we saw it as an invitation to keep showing up for ourselves?✨

Imposter syndrome doesn’t only show up in business.

Sometimes it shows up in parenting.

The other morning was one of those mornings. Everything felt chaotic, and my youngest left for school upset, telling me she hated me. In that moment, one difficult interaction seemed to outweigh years of love, laughter, and connection.

The voice of self-doubt crept in.

It’s the same voice that appears when we step outside our comfort zone. The one that asks, “Who do you think you are?” or “Maybe you’re getting this wrong.”

But feelings aren’t always facts.

A hard morning doesn’t make me a bad parent.
Self-doubt doesn’t make me a fraud.
Discomfort doesn’t mean I’m on the wrong path.

Sometimes it simply means I’m human.

We all have messy days. We all question ourselves.

And then we keep going—not because we’re certain, but because we know the feeling will pass, while the truth remains. 🌊

Your body remembers what your mind has learned to ignore.

Stress doesn’t only live in your thoughts.

It lives in:
* Tight shoulders
* A clenched jaw
* Shallow breathing
* Exhaustion
* Restlessness
* Feeling constantly “on”

This is why healing requires more than insight.
It requires reconnecting with the body.

To The Men in our Lives

To commemorate Fathers Day, we asked fathers following our whatsapp channel what they needed more of.

The answer was clear:
emotional support.

This Men’s Mental Health Month, let’s remember that strength isn’t the absence of vulnerability.
We all have a role to play in creating spaces where men feel safe to speak, be heard, and ask for help.

To the men reading this:

Asking for support is not a sign of weakness.
It is a sign of being human.

Coming Home to Ourselves

This month I had the privilege of hosting the third instalment of The Awakened Woman Trilogy—Come Home To Yourself—at the beautiful Summerfield Botanical Gardens.

I’ll admit, I spent a little time watching the weather forecast and wondering whether rain would arrive before everyone did. But in the end, the day unfolded more beautifully than I could have imagined. It almost felt as though Mother Nature was quietly reminding us that some things don’t need to be controlled—they simply need to be trusted.

To every woman who joined me, thank you.

Thank you for showing up with open hearts.
For your willingness to reconnect with yourselves.
For the courage to be seen.

There was something incredibly special in the space we created together. The conversations, the laughter, the moments of quiet reflection, and the connections that formed will stay with me for a long time.

I left feeling deeply grateful—for each of you, for the experience we shared, and for what is still to come.

Coming off our Come Home to Yourself workshop, this quote feels especially relevant – to men and women alike.

Many of us are not just physically tired – we’re overstimulated.

Our minds are constantly processing messages, notifications, news, videos, emails, and social media. Like greasy food, too much input can leave us feeling mentally and emotionally clogged.

Take time to notice what you’re consuming and how it affects your energy, mood, and sense of calm.

Sometimes the most powerful act of self-care isn’t adding more.
It’s creating space for less.

✨ What is one thing you’ll consume less of this coming month?

Letting Go…

I’m ending the month by taking some of my own advice and stealing away with my family for a short holiday.

Taking a moment to watch my children enjoy the simple moments of our family holiday, I was reminded how much peace lives in the present.

Not in getting everything right.
Not in making sure nothing goes wrong.

Just here.

Maybe that’s why control so often robs us of peace-it pulls us out of the only moment where peace actually exists.

Take a moment for Reflection: What would become possible if you loosened your grip on just one thing you’re trying to control? 💛
